I had another 2 1/2-hour "professional event" in the Prudential Center today. I will hopefully be able to elaborate on it sometime next week, but I think the signs are good. My universe is realigning, but in a promising way.
Suffice it to say that starting in early April, I could be spending a lot of time at the Boston Marathon finish line--and not just dreaming of my moment of personal glory.
After my "professional event," I walked past Marathon Sports--also at the finish line--and noticed the sign in the window that said "Marathoners, Are We Ready? 39 Days to Go."
Holy mother of God. 39 Days. That's like...less than 40.
When I got home from my long day in Boston, I asked Brian--who bravely schlepped Henry to the USS Constitution today and was also bushed--to make me up a Hyannis Narathon. What's a "Hyannis Narathon," you ask? It's our variation on the Cape Codder and a tribute to our fun on the Cape a few weeks ago. I'm happy to share the recipe, but note that the ratios are entirely up to you. We just keep pouring until the glass is full and the color is a pale magenta. Understand that pale=potent, while dark=dorky.
The Hyannis Narathon
Vodka
Triple Sec
Diet Tonic (I save my calories for the vodka)
Cranberry
Lime
I'm sure my cocktail tribute to the marathon will involve something considerably more potent and will hopefully not be a variation on the Dark & Stormy, the Black & Blue, the Hop Skip & Go Naked, or the Flatliner.

Mmmm...sounds really good. I'll have to pick me up some ingredients this weekend!
Glad things are turning around. 39 days is still a good amount of time to prepare. It's not 40. But, then again, it's not 30, either!
Yum, that looks like a cocktail I would enjoy!
Good luck with the rest of your training. The weather is slowly getting better!
