Crap.

I PR'd at Boston with an awful cold. The shots of affrin to the nose prior to the start might have even helped.. who knows. You have time, rest well, farm Henry out and sleep!!

It's those germ infected children of ours! They're little cold magnets! Must avoid the little people, must avoid the little people.

Eek! At least you have a week to get better. Maybe the bounce back from illness will put you in a super-healthy state for the marathon! I hope so!

NO WAY! Get better soon!!! I think we need a nice cold spell around here to flush out some of these germs! My Henry is ill (not that he would sleep in or anything and he fights me when I tell him he should stay home from school (pre-k)). Well kiddo just get better!!!! ~Jen

It's finally below or right at freezing here, so finally the yucky germs are dying off! Get well ASAP!

Better now than next weekend. Now you really have an excuse to take it easy before your big day. Can you still get a refund for the haz mat suit?

Cassandra said...

Gosh that bites. Hopefully you'll recoup soon!! Take care!

Jo Lynn said...

Oh gosh! I'm so sorry you are sick. You should have bought that Haz Mat suit when you had the chance. Get well.

While I have gone on record (ok, it's only my Facebook page) that you will feel better and run a great marathon, I hope it will keep you from stressing if I point out that there could be a plan B if I am wrong. Whether you can only run Philly for fun, or can't run it at all, you could try another flat course marathon in a few weeks for another BQ attempt. Looking at Marathon Guide.com, I think Plan B could be Jacksonville on December 21. Still, I stick by my prediction, first, your flu will fall, and Philly will follow.

Hang in there, be good to yourself, and get well soon!

Just think of all the awesome white blood cells you are creating and racking up in your system. That'll help during the marathon for sure!

Get well.

There's no getting sick in marathon training! Ok, there is, but it's not good.

Get better soon!

Just what is it about the taper that makes us get sick? It sucks, but you're a champ. You're going to run and BQ, I'm sure!

you have no idea who i am, but i too am a dedicated trainee under the toomey empire. i ran MCM in october, and you know what? 9 days before my day, i came down with a fever, sinus infection, all that awesomeness. z-pac'in it, i was in top shape again for the marathon. i believe the hard work and dedication is what gets you where you need to be, not the physicality of it all; that "fitness" people are always throwing at us. YOU CAN DO IT! BEST WISHES!
